SVRVIVE Raises $1.8 Million and Unveils HTC Vive Title

Stockholm-based VR games studio and distributor SVRVIVE is ready to unveil its inaugural VR game offering, the demo of which is now available on Steam.

The brainchild of entrepreneur Faviana Vangelius and co-founded with game developer duo Hampus Granberg and Pontus Petterson, venture builders Johan Svärd and Nils von Heijne (former head of digital communications for AVICII), the pre-alpha demo of its debut title SVRVIVE lands on the heels of the group raising 15 million SEK ($1.8 million) during its first seed round.

”We are excited to enter the exploding VR market with such a skilled team, experienced advisors and a game title which we feel is making the most of VR by taking players to new worlds.” – Faviana Vangelius, CEO and co-founder at SVRVIVE AB.

As well as being backed by one of Sweden’s most substantial seed investments this year, the group now also boasts a renowned advisory board of tech and gaming heavyweights. This includes HTC’s own SVP of Virtual Reality Rikard Steiber, Neat Corporation’s founder Jenny Nordenborg (creator of much-hyped Budget Cuts) and Spotify legal advisor Sofia Sheppard.

“It’s truly an honor to have HTC Vive’s very own Rikard Steiber, Jenny Nordenborg of Neat Corp/Budget Cuts and a bunch of other smart minds as our advisors. The fact that they believe in both our studio and our first game from day one has energized our entire team.” – Faviana Vangelius, CEO and co-founder at SVRVIVE AB.

With a sole focus on VR gameplay, inaugural title SVRVIVE offers a new and dynamic gaming experience to the HTC Vive. Allowing players to explore new worlds and dimensions, this mystery puzzle game fuses immersive user experience with head scratching storytelling, adding to an exciting wave of game developments for HTC’s industry shaking stake in the VR world. With chapter one of SVRVIVE expected to land later this fall, the pre-alpha demo is available now exclusively on Steam.
