Next month will see the Austin Game Conference (AGC), sponsored by Electronic Arts, which is the longest running event dedicated to serving the needs of online game developers. It has now been announced that the Games Strategic Lead at Google Play, will be the keynote speaker, and will address both augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR).
What Jamil Moledina will be discussing is “the next frontier”, and what that means is how mobile, PC, and console gaming changes when new technology is introduced. “The overnight success of Pokemon GO visibly resets the expectations on AR. At the same time, promising new experiences that can only be had in VR, are now emerging.” What Moledina will be talking about specifically is how Google is working with these trends, and aiming to create this next frontier.
“Jamil and Google are uniquely positioned; with a combination of extensive game experience and keen management in growing innovative platforms,” says Austin Game Conference Executive Director Christopher Sherman. “Game developers are constantly looking to differentiate their games and provide original experiences to gamers. I look forward to hearing how Google is embracing and leading the next frontier in games.”
“Games are again a powerful force in pop culture, by bringing unique experiences to mobile, AR, and VR,” says Jamil Moledina, the Games Strategic Lead at Google Play. “We’re looking forward to connect with developers of all sizes at the conference and explore new channels to reach gamers and build successful businesses.”
Registration for AGC will be open by 31st August for $249 (USD), with student tickets available for $149, as well as group discounts.
